Moeen Ali and Steven Finn have been ruled out of the first Ashes warm-up game due to injuries

Steven Finn and Moeen Ali are expected to go through scans since the injury concerns that have overshadowed just at the beginning of the Ashes tour. It has been reported that both of the players will go through scans on Friday in Perth. Also, both of them experienced discomfort while attending a session at Richardson Park. They are now eliminated from England’s opening match, which is happening on Saturday.

ECB Injury worries

Seamer Finn injured himself when he was batting in the nets. His left knee is injured, while Ali Moeen has reported soreness in the left side of his body. However, it is the fact that Moeen has been injured which worries England the most.
Moeen has not taken part in all the training sessions since the injury. He was eliminated from the two-day fixture game with Western Australia XI happening at the WACA on Saturday.
Moreover, with Ben Stokes not being in the match, it is ill-afford for England to lose another all-rounder.
Only one spinner left in England’s Ashes team is Mason Crane now. He has shown impressive composure in some of the international matches and is now highly rated. England might be hesitant to give the 20-year-old leg-spinner a chance to come in the Test debut as a spinner.

England Replacement Options

That means England’s management might try calling up reinforcements. A left-arm spinner, Jack Leach, is in the Lions squad that will reach Australia in 2 weeks. He will be the most significant candidate even though he can’t replicate Moeen’s capacity in playing with the bat.
Losing a player like Moeen will make matters tougher for England’s Ashes warm-up game. England was trying to field a team (of 12, probably) that would be the closest to the side they are going to put out in Brisbane.
The only problems they are facing include resolving the identity of the 4th seamer and No. 5 batsman.
With Moeen not going to participate in the game, Craig Overton’s batting can earn him some advantages over Jake Ball.
